LOG START: REGION FLORA FLAME
Timestamp: Day 1, 0800 Hours
Location: Pallet Town (Floral Overlay)
Current Pokedex: 0/151 (Panic inducing)
I arrived in the Flora Flame sector expecting a biodiversity explosion. The intel promised "many flowers." Intel was correct. There are flowers. Everywhere. On the grass, on the paths, potentially inside my shoes. But as a LVL 100 Explorer who measures life in Pokedex entries, I immediately checked the local population density. My heart rate spiked. The local fauna appears... identical to standard FireRed simulation. This is not a drill. I am looking at a standard Pidgey in a field of petunias.
THE ECOLOGY (OR LACK THEREOF)
I spent three hours in Route 1. I have cataloged 4,000 flowers and exactly two distinct Pokemon species. For a completionist, this is a crisis. I need to know: Where are the regional variants? Where are the Gen 4 evolutions? I checked the Celadon Department Store, hoping for modern amenities. In top-tier regions, the Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. But here? I found standard potions and a clerk who looked at me funny when I asked for a Reaper Cloth. The trade evolution barrier is still active. My blood pressure is rising.
THE GRIND
The visual landscape of this region is vibrant, unlike anything in the Kanto sector, I'll give it that. It's like someone spilled a bucket of neon paint on the overworld tiles. But pretty petals don't fill the National Dex. I found myself running standard Kanto circuits. The "changes in gameplay" mentioned in the briefing were elusive. I suspect slight modifications to encounter rates, but without a documentation log, I'm flying blind.
NOTE: Do not approach the tall grass expecting surprises. It is just Rattata. It is always Rattata.
ANOMALIES AND MISSABLES
Since the architecture mimics the standard FireRed integrity, the old threats remain. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave in Cerulean. If you knock out Mewtwo here, he's gone. No respawn mechanics detected. No "League Defeat Reset". Just old-school, punishing permanence. I respect the hardcore nature of the 2004 era, but my spreadsheet yearns for modern conveniences.
FINAL LOG
I tried to push for a full Living Dex. I really did. But the lack of availability for trade-locked species broke me. 100% completion took me 85 hours.... is what I would say if I hadn't aborted the mission at the 25-hour mark due to redundancy. This isn't a new expedition; it's a vacation to a flower garden with your grandfather's GameBoy.
