LOG ENTRY: THE KANTO SINGULARITY
Timestamp: 04:00 Hours. Caffeine Level: Critical.
Location: Pallet Town (Technically?)
I’ve just uploaded the data from the Pokemon Fire Red Remake sector. My hands are still shaking. Not from fear, but from the sheer logistical overload. The Pokedex interface lit up with entries from Generations 1 through 7. That's over 800 potential targets in a region built for 151. My spreadsheet is bleeding.
This isn't the Kanto I memorized. The timeline has fractured. The locals call it "Open World." I call it a Completionist's Panic Attack. There are no guard rails. You can walk into Pewter or Fuchsia whenever you want, and the environment adapts to you.
THE ANOMALY: ADAPTIVE THREAT LEVELS
Usually, I stomp Route 1 with a level 5 starter and move on. Not here. The hostility of the local fauna scales with your own team. I walked into the tall grass with a full squad, and the Pidgeys were matching me blow for blow. The Gym Leaders? They don't have static teams. They look at your badges, look at your levels, and adjust their loadout.
It keeps the adrenaline high, but for a collector? It makes efficient farming difficult. You can't just over-level to swipe a low-catch-rate mon. You have to fight for every entry.
ARSENAL AND QOL UPGRADES
Thank Arceus for the local technology. The developers—sorry, the "regional architects"—installed a warping mechanism directly into the PC storage system. You can teleport to any visited city instantly from a Pokemon Center. No Fly slave needed. This streamlines the backtracking significantly.
I also detected Mega Evolution frequencies and Z-Move signatures. They are integrated, but finding the stones is a scavenger hunt. I spent three hours turning over rocks in Mt. Moon looking for a Gengarite.
FIELD NOTE: The Department Store inventory has been overhauled. Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. I evolved my Kadabra immediately. No friends required.
THE HUNT: 100% COMPLETION STATUS
Here is the reality of the "Gen 1-7" claim. The density is absurd. Every patch of grass is a clown car of biodiversity. You'll find Alolan forms mixing with Kanto natives. It’s messy, but for a Living Dex? It’s a goldmine.
However, the "Open World" nature means there is no linear guide to legendary encounters. I stumbled upon Articuno while I was severely underprepared. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. If you knock it out, the auto-save might not save you, and the scaling means it hits like a truck.
I have confirmed that a Living Dex is possible without cheats, provided you have the patience to scour every grid of the map. The encounters are randomized to a degree, or at least highly varied.
MISSION VERDICT
This is a chaotic, maximalist simulation. It lacks the polish of the Unbound sector, but it scratches the itch if you want to use a Golisopod against misty. 100% completion took me 62 hours, mostly because I got lost in the non-linear map structure.
Is it refined? No. Is it packed with content? Yes. My Pokedex is full, my eyes are bloodshot, and I need a nap.
