LOG ENTRY: DAY 42 - THE 95% PURGATORY
My eye has been twitching for the last six hours. I am staring at Pokedex slot #150. It's empty. The Official Intel promised "nearly all 386 Pokemon are capturable," but in the field, "nearly" is a four-letter word. I don't do "nearly." I do 100%. I do complete. I do a Living Dex organized by color gradient in the PC boxes.
This region, designated Fire Red Infernos, is a chaotic mix of potential and abandonment. It is a Beta 1.1 simulation left to rot since 2018, and my completionist soul is screaming.
VISUAL ANOMALIES & LOCAL FAUNA
The visual landscape of this region is vibrant, unlike anything in the standard Kanto sector. The local entities have undergone a metamorphosis; sprites have been updated to Gen IV and V standards. Seeing a Charizard that doesn't look like a pixelated potato is a relief, but it's a cosmetic bandage on a deep wound. The map architecture remains largely Kanto-standard, but with minor deviations in plot and layout that threw off my muscle memory.
THREAT LEVEL: ELEVATED
Hostile entities proved extremely dangerous. The Gym Leaders here don't play by the old rules; their rosters have been overhauled, and their AI tactics are sharper. I barely scraped by the Elite Four. However, the combat data is inconsistent. The intel suggests movepools and abilities are "in process of editing," which is explorer code for "broken." I sent out a Gengar expecting Levitate and got hit by an Earthquake. Unacceptable.
THE CATCH REPORT
Here is the tragedy. I packed my gear, ready for the long haul. I told myself Living Dex is possible without cheats. I lied to myself. As I traversed the post-game, gaps started appearing. Legendaries that should be roaming are non-existent. Mythicals are missing from the code.
Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Specifically, any cave. The stability of this reality (Beta 1.1) is fragile. I encountered anomalies where the warp tiles didn't function correctly, nearly trapping me in the dark forever.
I tracked every blade of grass. I documented every encounter. Usually, 100% completion took me 85 hours on a run like this. Here? I hit a wall at hour 40. There is no Link Stone to patch the holes in this Pokedex. There is no satisfaction. Just empty slots and the silence of an abandoned project.
FINAL LOG
This expedition is a failure. Not because of skill, but because the world itself is unfinished. There is no Battle Frontier to test my team. There is no closure. If you are like me—if you need that certificate, if you need the shiny charm, if you need the gold trainer card—turn back. This region is a ghost town.
