MISSION LOG: DAY 1 - THE GEOMETRY SHIFT
I touched down in Littleroot Town expecting the usual routine: set clock, check PC for Potion, ignore Mom, get starter. WRONG. The geography has been completely terraformed. The architect, Skyro005, has remapped the entire region. My muscle memory is screaming. I walked into a wall where the Lab door used to be. This isn't just a fresh coat of paint; it's a structural rewrite of the Hoenn sector.
My Pokedex reads 0/386. My pulse is already racing. The local intel suggests this reality is a "test" or a "module" rather than a fully realized world. This is a nightmare for a completionist. How can I achieve 100% synchronization if the world itself is in beta?
THE ANOMALIES (FEATURES & BUGS)
The visual landscape of this region is vibrant, yet disorienting. The remapped towns are fresh, giving explorers a reason to check every corner again, but the text... oh, the text. EVERYONE IS SHOUTING. The lack of decapitalization means every text box is an assault on the eyes. It feels like the simulation is glitching.
- Battle Engine: Updated. Hostile entities proved extremely dangerous. The Gym Leaders aren't using the standard AI scripts; they've been reprogrammed for pain.
- The Wildlife: The creator admitted that wild Pokemon distribution was secondary to Trainer editing. This is a critical failure for a Hunter. I'm finding Zigzagoons where I expect Poochyenas.
- Save Data: Rumors of a patch to support save compatibility exist, but in the field, I wouldn't trust it.
FIELD NOTE:Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. With the maps redesigned, I found myself trapped in a dead-end tunnel with no Escape Rope. The layout logic is unfamiliar. Do not rely on your memories of the GBA era.
THE VERDICT: A FRAGMENTED REALITY
I spent hours scouring the tall grass, but the deeper I went, the more this felt like a training simulation than a living world. The Official Intel confirms this was a "test" from 2017. It lacks the polish of a finished romhack. There are no fancy DexNavs here, no convenient Link Stones visible in the early game.
Usually, 100% completion took me 85 hours in a standard Hoenn run. Here? I aborted the mission after the 4th Gym. The "Renewal" is aesthetic and tactical, but not structural. The post-game is massive, Battle Frontier included, simply because the base code is Emerald, but reaching it through the remapped chaos and shouting text boxes requires a level of patience I reserve for shiny hunting Feebas.
If you are a Cartographer, come for the new maps. If you are a DexHunter like me? Stay away. The empty slots in the Pokedex will haunt you.
