LOG ENTRY: 0800 HOURS - LITTLEROOT SECTOR
Touchdown in Hoenn. The humidity is at 90%, but my focus is at 110%. I came here for one reason: The Pokedex. Intel suggested a modification to the starter protocol. Confirmed. Professor Birch offered the standard triad, plus a fourth option: Eevee. I secured the specimen immediately. Nature: Modest. Good start.
THE HUNT: TOTAL AVAILABILITY
I usually break out in hives playing vanilla Emerald because of the missing data entries. You can't catch 'em all if they aren't there. But this region? It's clean. Living Dex is possible without cheats. I found a Bulbasaur in the tall grass. I found a Mudkip while surfing. The biodiversity here has been patched to perfection. No slots left behind.
FIELD NOTE: Keep an eye on the rival. Their team composition shifts dynamically based on your Eevee selection. They are adapting.
MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENTS
The biggest hurdle to my 100% run usually involves finding a second operative to trade with. Here, local biological laws have changed. Alakazam doesn't need a trade; it needs experience. Machamp? Same deal. Trade evolutions changed to leveled evolutions. This is the streamlined experience I crave. No Link Cables required, though I still instinctively checked the Department Store.
Also, local regulations regarding movement speed inside structures have been lifted. Running indoors is allowed. It shaved at least 4 hours off my total travel time. The text logs have been fully decapitalized, which prevents the sensation that every NPC is screaming at you.
POST-GAME & VERDICT
Once the Champion fell, I didn't stop. Post-game is massive. Battle Frontier included. It's the standard Emerald frontier, but tackling it with a full Eeveelution team adds a layer of spice I didn't know I needed. The ability to source every version exclusive in the wild meant I didn't have to pause my expedition to hack in a Lunatone.
100% completion took me 52 hours. Every box in the PC is full. Sorted numerically. It's beautiful.
