LOG ENTRY: REGION DERPIZARD
Timestamp: 03:00 Hours (Insomnia active)
Location: Unknown Town (Architecture resembles Kanto, Atmosphere resembles a fever dream)
Pokedex Status: ERROR
I am hyperventilating. I have just spent twelve hours in the Derpizard sector, and my completionist anxiety is at critical levels. This isn't a normal expedition. It's a psychological test designed to break those of us who need that sweet, sweet 100% completion screen.
THE VISUAL ANOMALY
The intel stated: "Replace all the NPCs with the sprites of Pokemon." I thought this was a localized camouflage technique. It is not. The Nurse is a Chansey. The Mart clerk is a Machop. I walked into a house and tried to talk to a Jigglypuff, but my instincts took over. I threw a Great Ball at the homeowner. It failed. My catch rate efficiency is ruined.
NOTE: Do not attempt to catch the Gym Leaders. They look like Legendaries, but the capture technology bounces off. It is heartbreaking.
THE HUNT & THE DATA
I attempted to establish a baseline for a Living Dex. Usually, I map out encounter tables within the first hour. Here? Chaos. The "New Storyline" promised in the briefing is a erratic series of events that feels less like a narrative and more like a glitch in the simulation. I found myself wandering aimlessly, looking for a flag to trigger.
I approached a vendor hoping for rare evolution items to salvage this trip. Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. Or at least, it would be, if I could figure out which pixelated creature was running the register. The economy of this region is baffling.
THREAT LEVEL & ANOMALIES
The base architecture appears to be Ruby, yet the landscape screams FireRed. This structural dissonance causes severe headaches. The difficulty is hard to gauge because half the time I'm fighting the urge to capture the quest givers. However, for fellow hunters:
- Stability: Volatile. I encountered several soft-lock scenarios.
- Missables: High. Because the NPCs are Pokemon, distinct visual cues for important events are nonexistent.
Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. I spoke to a Zubat (who was actually an NPC) and the game logic seemed to hang for a solid 10 seconds. Save early, save often.
THE VERDICT
I cannot recommend this for a serious Living Dex attempt. Living Dex is possible without cheats only if you possess a level of patience that transcends human limits. The novelty of a world populated entirely by Pokemon wears off exactly 14 minutes in, leaving you with a hollow, confusing shell of a region.
I'm leaving. I need to go organize my PC boxes in Unbound just to calm my nerves. My spreadsheet remains empty. This is a 0% run.
