LOG ENTRY: REGION DELTA FUSION
Location: Unknown Sector (Modified Kanto Architecture)
Status: Mental Stability Compromised
Pokedex Count: ERROR_INTEGER_OVERFLOW
I need a drink. A MooMoo Milk. Something strong. I’ve just spent three weeks in the Delta Fusion region, and my completionist spreadsheet is in shambles. You think catching 493 is hard? Try calculating the permutations of biological fusion when the laws of nature are treated like suggestions. My Pokedex isn't just a recording device anymore; it's a cry for help.
THE BIOLOGICAL LANDSCAPE
This isn't your standard FireRed simulation. The local scientists have gone rogue. The core gimmick here—fusing entities—changes the collection meta entirely. Usually, I see a Pidgey, I catch a Pidgey. Here? That Pidgey might have the head of a Geodude and the wings of a nightmare.
Visually, the region is a mix of familiar Kanto assets and custom cartography. The new maps are refreshing, though navigation can be tricky. I found myself backtracking frequently just to ensure I hadn't missed a unique fusion spawn in the tall grass. The sheer variety of sprites is impressive, though some look like they were stitched together by a blind Mankey. But for a collector? It's an endless buffet.
DATA COLLECTION & AVAILABILITY
Here is the critical intel for my fellow hunters. The catchability rating is high, but the volume is overwhelming. You aren't just hunting species; you're hunting combinations.
- Trade Evolutions: Confirmed patched. Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. I evolved my Alakazam-hybrid without needing to disturb a second operative.
- The Dex: It’s a mess, but a beautiful one. Tracking 100% is nearly impossible without a dedicated external database, as the in-game Dex struggles to categorize the abominations.
- Missables: Pay attention here. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave north of the starting town. There is a scripted encounter with a fused Legendary that does not respawn if you faint it. I learned this the hard way and had to roll back a 4-hour save file.
THE GRIND
The difficulty curve is erratic. Because fusion types can cancel out weaknesses (e.g., a Fire/Water type negating Water weakness), Gym Leaders can be surprisingly tanky. I spent hours grinding levels just to bypass a specific fused Snorlax that refused to faint.
100% completion took me 85 hours. And that's with speed-up toggled on. If you are obsessed with seeing a "Caught" symbol next to every possible sprite, say goodbye to your social life. The post-game exists, but it feels like an extension of the fusion chaos rather than a structured Battle Frontier.
FIELD NOTE: Keep a supply of Repels. The encounter rate in the new caves is aggressive, and running from a Level 5 Rat-Onix every three steps will drain your sanity.
FINAL LOG
Delta Fusion is a fever dream. It’s not polished like Unbound, and it lacks the structured discipline of a Drayano simulation. But for a purely chaotic collection run? It scratches the itch. Just don't expect your spreadsheet to survive the trip.
