LOG ENTRY: ONWA REGION [DAY 1]

My hands are shaking. Not from fear, but from the framerate. I just stepped off the boat into the Onwa Region and the world is moving at a buttery smooth 60 frames per second. In a GBC-class environment? It’s unnatural. It’s intoxicating. My Pokedex boot sequence usually takes 3 seconds; here, it feels instant. I’ve arrived in Pokemon Coral Version, and I’m already hyperventilating.

The local Professor dropped a bomb on me: Species from all seven generations are roaming these 8-bit wildlands. Do you understand the logistical nightmare of cataloging an Alolan Vulpix in a retro-engine? It's beautiful. But there is a catch. My completionist sensors are screaming because this expedition is currently limited to a DEMO sector (v1.2). I can see the empty slots, but I can't fill them all yet. The pain is real.

THE CATCHING LANDSCAPE

The biodiversity here is staggering. We aren't just dealing with Pidgeys. I spotted regional variants and species that shouldn't exist in this timeline. The custom sprite work is seamless—Gen 7 mons look like they were born on the Game Boy Color. I’ve started my box organization early: Standard, Shiny, Competitive, Trade Fodder.

FIELD NOTE: The wardrobe in your room allows for on-the-fly sprite color changes. I changed my outfit to match my starter. Immersion levels: Critical.

Speaking of acquisition, I confirmed a vital piece of intel for my fellow collectors: Living Dex is possible without cheats. At least, that's the promise for the full release. For now, I'm catching everything within the demo's boundaries. I won't leave a single blade of grass unturned until the 'To Be Continued' screen stops me.

MECHANICAL UPGRADES (QOL REPORT)

This is where Onwa truly shines. The local government has abolished the HM Slave labor laws. If you have the Badge and the HM, and your Pokemon can learn the move, they can use it in the field without learning it. No more ruining my Swampert's moveset with Whirlpool. This is the efficiency I live for.

Transport is also revolutionized. No bicycle. Instead, I procured a Skateboard. It has its own physics engine—acceleration, jumping mechanics, rail grinding. I spent 45 minutes just mastering a kickflip instead of catching Pokemon. Shameful, I know.

WARNING: Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. There are rumors of unique encounters and events that trigger only once. I backed up my save file three times just to be safe.

THREAT ASSESSMENT

The difficulty is spicy. Not "Kaizo" unfair, but the Gym Leaders use actual strategies. They have coverage moves. They know what they're doing. I had to actually EV train my team slightly just to ensure a clean sweep. The Physical/Special split is active, thank Arceus. Using a Gengar with Shadow Ball actually makes sense here.

My expedition was cut short by the demo wall, but the potential here is massive. Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. Okay, I haven't confirmed the Department Store stock personally in the demo, but the mechanics suggest trade evolutions will be handled internally. I'm keeping my eyes peeled.

FINAL LOG

I am currently sitting at 98% completion of the available content. I need two more rare spawns. I will not sleep. The Onwa region is a technical marvel—a Crystal hack that feels like a modern indie game. When the full map opens up, I'm going to be the first one to hit 100%.
