MISSION LOG: RYOKO REGION INCURSION
Explorer: DexHunter Ace (LVL. 100)
Current Location: Ryoko League HQ
Pokedex Status: 382/??? (Regional Cap Reached)
Time Elapsed: 42 hours, 18 minutes
I haven't blinked in four hours. The Ryoko Region is dense. We are talking about a biodiversity index that spans from Kanto all the way to Galar. My neurological need to categorize every living thing is firing on all cylinders. This isn't just a stroll through the tall grass; it's a full-scale collection operation.
THE ECOSYSTEM (FAUNA & AVAILABILITY)
The local wildlife is aggressive and varied. We have species from eight different generations cohabiting in these biomes. It is absolute chaos, and I love it. I spotted a Dreepy hovering near a Pidgey. The ecological implications are terrifying, but for a collector? It's paradise.
The Hidden Grotto Protocol:
Headquarters mentioned "Hidden Grottos," and I can confirm their existence. These spatial anomalies are scattered everywhere. I spent six hours just checking tree hollows. They are essential for finding rare abilities. If you ignore these, you are failing the mission. Living Dex is possible without cheats. Or at least, it will be once the region fully stabilizes. Currently, the available zones are packed, but I sense the borders (updates) are still shifting.
LOCAL TECHNOLOGY (MECHANICS & QOL)
The Ryoko scientific community has finally caught up to modern standards. The Physical/Special split is in full effect—no more Hitmonchan suffering from elemental punches running off Special Attack. Thank Arceus.
- Infinite TMs: Confirmed. I don't have to hoard Thunderbolt like it's a retirement fund. I can teach it to my entire team. This single feature saved me approximately 3 hours of grinding.
- Evolutionary Stones: The geology here is rich. Stones are abundant, meaning I didn't have to wait until the post-game to evolve my roster.
FIELD NOTE: Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave north of the 4th Gym city. The static encounter there is temperamental, and if you knock it out, it doesn't respawn until the League is conquered. Don't be an amateur.
THREAT LEVEL & ANOMALIES
Team Proto is the local hostile entity. Their Supreme Leader, Apollo, isn't messing around. The difficulty curve is what I'd call "Spicy but Fair." It's not the Kaizo-level torture that makes me want to eat my GameBoy, but you can't sleepwalk through it. The Gym Leaders actually use strategy.
However, the region is still in a "Beta 2" state of flux. I encountered a few visual glitches—texture tearing on the coastline—which I'm classifying as "Reality Distortion Fields." Nothing that halts the mission, but the polish isn't quite at the level of the Unbound sector yet.
THE VERDICT
100% completion took me 42 hours (for the current build). The Ryoko Region is a solid hunting ground for those of us who need that dopamine hit of filling a Dex slot. It's meaty, it's varied, and the inclusion of Gen 8 mons on a GBA framework is technical wizardry I respect.
Is it finished? The tags say "Completed," but the atmosphere feels like there is more to come. For now, it's a goldmine for collectors.
