MISSION LOG: REGION CHAOS BLACK
OPERATIVE: DEXHUNTER ACE
CURRENT STATUS: MENTALLY COMPROMISED
POKEDEX COUNT: ERROR_404
THE ANOMALY REPORT
I don't know who at HQ authorized this expedition, but we need to have a serious conversation about the definition of "Completed." I packed my gear expecting a standard FireRed variant with some spicy regional forms. What I walked into was a dimension falling apart at the seams. My Pokedex isn't just empty; it's screaming.
The region operates on a modified Kanto substrate, but the local fauna has been corrupted by what the locals call "Chaos" energy. We're talking Chaos Mewtwo, Chaos Lugia—entities that defy the natural order. For a collector like me, seeing a new sprite is like smelling fresh coffee. I wanted to catch them. I needed to catch them. But the environment itself is hostile to exploration.
THE CATCHABILITY INDEX
Here is the situation: The "Chaos" Pokemon are technically impressive. They replace standard slots, meaning the National Dex is a minefield of unknown data. I started my run with high hopes. I documented a Chaos starter and felt that familiar rush.
NOTE: Do not trust the terrain data. Walls are suggestions. Water is solid. The laws of physics are optional here.
However, the ecosystem is shattered. I encountered invisible barriers in areas that should be accessible. The local technology (the ROM structure) seems to date back to the early 2000s era of unregulated experimentation. I spent hours trying to navigate the Mt. Moon sector, only to realize the path forward simply didn't exist in this timeline without warping reality (cheat codes).
QUALITY OF LIFE? NON-EXISTENT.
I look for specific markers of a civilized region. I want to say Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. But I can't. Because I can't even reach the Department Store without phasing through a wall. I want to tell you that a Living Dex is possible without cheats. But that would be a lie. The encounter tables are broken, and events fail to trigger.
This isn't a game; it's an archaeological dig into a glitched civilization. I found myself obsessively saving every 4 steps, not because of difficulty, but because the world might implode.
THE VERDICT
I pride myself on my 100% completion rate. Usually, 100% completion took me 85 hours. In Chaos Black? I spent 10 hours just trying to figure out why the Eevee event crashed my device. This expedition is a wash. The Chaos sprites are a fascinating curiosity for historians, but for a serious Hunter? It's a nightmare.
- Pokedex Integrity: 10% (Corrupted)
- Catchability: Low (Requires reality warping)
- Stability: Critical Failure
Abort mission unless you are investigating digital ruins.
