MISSION REPORT: POKEMON CELESTIUM
Explorer: DexHunter Ace (LVL. 100)
Expedition Duration: 12 hours, 47 minutes
Completion Status: 34.2% (INCOMPLETE - SEE NOTES)
INITIAL ASSESSMENT
Okay. OKAY. Let me just— let me collect myself here because I went into Celestium expecting a standard FireRed derivative and instead I'm dealing with Emons. Entirely new creatures. My Pokedex is basically useless. My spreadsheets? GARBAGE. I had to start fresh. A blank document. Do you understand what that does to someone like me?
The premise is wild: Planet Tyes crashed into Earth, brought alien creatures called Emons, humanity fought a Calamity War and LOST, and now we're five years post-apocalypse sending ten-year-olds to capture these things. Dark stuff. But here's what matters to me: can I catch them all?
THE LANDSCAPE
The region operates under post-war conditions. Ruined infrastructure, desperate settlements, the whole aesthetic screams "survival mode." Running Shoes available immediately upon mission start — that's baseline QoL I expect but appreciate nonetheless. The visual landscape has this grim, muted quality that fits the lore but made tracking wild encounters difficult in certain areas.
Side quests exist for item acquisition. Multiple NPCs scattered across early routes offered fetch missions. Grabbed a few useful consumables this way. The mixture of new and old HMs they mentioned? Confirmed. Some familiar movement tech, some regional variants I hadn't seen before.
THE EMON SITUATION (CRITICAL)
Here's where my brain started short-circuiting. These Fakemon — sorry, Emons — are STRONG. My starter Charmander (yes, regular Charmander, apparently one of the few surviving Earth Pokemon) got absolutely bodied in early encounters. Threat level is HIGH even in starting zones.
MISSABLE EVENT WARNING! Save before entering the cave. I encountered what appeared to be a unique Emon in the first optional dungeon and had ONE chance to capture it. Failed the catch. No respawn. My completion percentage haunts me.
The Emon designs range from genuinely creative to slightly unsettling. Some feel like corrupted versions of familiar species. Others are completely alien. My Pokedex — or whatever the regional equivalent is called — has slots I can't even identify yet.
POKEDEX COMPLETION VIABILITY
This is where I have to be honest with you all. Living Dex is possible without cheats — theoretically. The capturing device mechanics seem designed for full completion. BUT. And this is a massive but.
Beta 1 status means I cannot confirm total Emon count. I catalogued 47 unique species in my 12-hour expedition. Extrapolating from route density, I estimate 120-150 total? Maybe more? The lack of documentation is making my eye twitch.
No Link Cable item spotted in any Department Store equivalent. Trade evolutions — if they exist in this Emon ecosystem — remain unverified. This is a potential dealbreaker for completionists. I need answers.
QOL ASSESSMENT
Let me run down what I found:
- Running Shoes: Immediate. Good.
- Repel System: Standard. No infinite toggle detected. Disappointing.
- PC Box Access: Available at healing stations. Functional.
- Shiny Hunting Method: COMPLETELY UNKNOWN. I encountered zero shinies. No DexNav equivalent. No chaining mechanics I could identify. This region may not support shiny variants at all, which would be... I can't even process that possibility.
- Save System: Standard. Multiple slots would've been nice given the missable encounters.
POST-GAME STATUS
Cannot confirm. Beta 1 ended abruptly after what felt like the third major story beat. No Battle Frontier. No post-game content accessible. The "main rival" mentioned in intelligence reports appeared briefly but our confrontation felt incomplete.
For reference: 100% completion took me 85 hours in Unbound. Here? I hit a wall at 12 hours and 34.2% with nowhere else to go.
ANOMALIES DETECTED
Two soft-locks encountered in the northern mountain route. Stepping on specific tiles near the cave entrance froze all movement. Had to reload saves twice. These aren't Glitch Cities worth exploring — they're genuine hazards.
One NPC dialogue loop that required closing the emulator entirely. Text box wouldn't advance. Lost maybe 20 minutes of progress.
FINAL FIELD NOTES
NOTE: This expedition cannot be rated as a complete experience. Beta 1 is exactly that — a beta. The foundation exists for something interesting. The Emon concept is fresh. The post-apocalyptic Pokemon world has potential. But my completion-focused brain is SCREAMING at the unknowns.
I need version updates. I need a full Emon registry. I need confirmation on shiny mechanics. I need to know if that cave encounter respawns in later builds.
Current recommendation: Monitor this region. Do not attempt full completion runs until stable release. My spreadsheet has 47 entries and approximately 100 question marks. That ratio is unacceptable.
Completion Percentage Achieved: 34.2%
Estimated Full Completion Time: Cannot calculate (insufficient data)
Pokedex Entries: 47/?????
Shinies Found: 0 (mechanics unconfirmed)
Soft-locks: 2
Stress Level: Elevated
