LOG ENTRY: DETUNS REGION TOUCHDOWN
My palms are sweating. I just landed in the Detuns Region, and my Pokedex is reading zero. Absolute zero. This isn't just a new region; it's a biological anomaly. The local designation is "Pokemon Cataclysm", and frankly, the name fits the state of my completionist anxiety. We are looking at a Ruby-based infrastructure, but the wildlife? Completely alien.
I spent the first six hours just wandering the starting town because the audio landscape was disorienting—100% new sounds and music. It’s not the trumpets of Hoenn; it’s something else entirely. It sets a vibe, sure, but I'm here for the data. I'm here for the slots.
THE BIOLOGICAL THREAT (FAKEMON)
This is why we explore. The region is teeming with undocumented species (Fakemon). My standard spreadsheet is useless here. I ran into a creature called "Veetagron"—apparently a redesign of a local legend. The sprite work is... interesting. It feels raw, unpolished, like the region itself is still forming.
FIELD NOTE: Do not rely on standard type matchups. These entities do not follow the laws of Kanto physics. Save often.
For a completionist, this is both heaven and hell. I have no wiki to consult. I have no encounter tables. I am flying blind. Living Dex is possible without cheats. At least, that's what my initial scans suggest, assuming the developer didn't leave any spawn tables empty in this Alpha build. Every bush is a gamble.
ANOMALIES AND EVENTS
I detected signals for specific temporal anomalies: the "Summer Forest" and "Diamond Forest" events. These scream limited availability. My blood pressure spiked immediately.
Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Or the forest, in this case. If these events are one-time triggers, and you walk in without a supply of Ultra Balls, you might lock yourself out of 100% completion. I wasn't willing to risk it, so I grinded money for 4 hours before stepping foot inside the Diamond Forest.
THE GRIND
Let's talk logistics. The QoL here is... vintage. It's built on Ruby, and you can feel the age in the engine despite the fresh coat of paint. I didn't find a universal Exp. Share early on, which means manual training. 100% completion took me 85 hours. Well, projected. I'm currently at hour 30 and only have 4 badges because I refuse to leave a route until I've seen every possible spawn.
The "Alpha" designation on this mission file (Version 1.0.2) is accurate. I encountered visual glitches—textures flickering in and out of existence. It adds to the "Cataclysm" theme, I guess? But when you're trying to shiny hunt, a glitch looks a lot like a sparkle, and false positives are heartbreaking.
FINAL LOG
The Detuns Region is a jagged, rough frontier. It's not for the casual tourist who wants a polished ride from Pallet Town to the League. This is for the xenobiologists who want to catalog weird, possibly unstable creatures.
