LOG ENTRY: THE REGION OF RESTRICTION
Timestamp: 0600 Hours
Location: Pallet Town Perimeter
I am hyperventilating. I need a paper bag. I just stepped into Route 1, ready to begin the standard collection protocol. I saw a Pidgey. I caught the Pidgey. Then I saw a Rattata. I threw a Poke Ball. It failed.
The local laws of physics in the Blood and Tears sector are hostile to completionists. This isn't a glitch; it's a feature. The region operates under a strict "Nuzlocke Protocol." You can only capture the first entity you encounter in any given zone. Do you understand the implications of this? It means Pokedex slots are permanently missable. My spreadsheet is in ruins. I see empty slots, and I physically cannot fill them.
THE MORTALITY ANOMALY
The hostility doesn't end with capture rates. The bio-readings of my team are tied to their mortality. If a Pokemon faints here, they don't return to the ball. They die. Permadeath. I lost my starter to a critical hit and the system demanded I release the data. Gone.
Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Save before breathing. Save before blinking. If you encounter a Zubat first, you are stuck with a Zubat. If you wanted a Geodude for the Dex entry? Too bad. It's gone forever.
THE WORLD'S EDGE
I pushed forward, hoping to find some redemption in the late-game economy. I was praying to report that the Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. But the road ended abruptly. The cartography is incomplete. This region is a "Demo" fragment, abandoned since 2016. There is no post-game. There is no Battle Frontier. There is only the void.
Usually, 100% completion took me 85 hours in a standard region like Unbound. Here, my completion percentage is capped by the cruel laws of the universe. This is not a place for collectors. It is a survival simulation for masochists.
