LOG ENTRY: DAY 4 - THE AWESOME XD SECTOR
I haven't slept in 36 hours. My eyes are dry, my thumbs are blistered, and I still haven't mapped the entirety of this region. The intel claimed this was a FireRed simulation, but the topography is completely alien. All new routes, towns, and dungeons. It’s not a remaster; it’s a total terraformation. I walked into what I thought was Viridian Forest and ended up in a completely unrecognized biome.
THE ECONOMY OF SURVIVAL
The local government here is corrupt. I sprinted into a Pokemon Center with a paralyzed team, and the Nurse demanded a $500 copay. $500! Do you know how many Poke Balls that buys? I had to sign up for an insurance plan just to keep my run viable. To offset this financial drain, I’ve resorted to... tactically acquiring supplies. The local Poke Marts have security flaws that allow for item theft. I’m not proud of it, but a Hunter does what he must to fill the Dex.
BIOLOGICAL ANOMALIES
I chose the "Edited" timeline for this expedition, and it’s messing with my muscle memory. 37 species have mutated types and stats. The matchup chart is rewritten. I threw a Rock move at a bird and it laughed at me.
Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. The dungeons are actual labyrinths here, not the straight lines of Kanto. And with the "Conductor" threat level active, the Gym Leaders are engaging in 2v2 tactical combat. It's brutal.
TRAVERSAL PROTOCOLS
Finally, some good news for the efficiency charts. The HM system has been dismantled. To cut down a tree, you don't need a slave with Cut; you just... jump up and down like a maniac. It looks ridiculous, but it saves a move slot. Huge W. However, the lack of a Physical/Special split is a technological regression that makes team building frustrating.
FINAL LOG
Is this region stable? Mostly. Is it exhaustive? 100% completion took me 85 hours. Well, projected. The map density is high. Living Dex is possible without cheats... theoretically, assuming you can survive the medical bills.
