LOG ENTRY: DAY 01 - ZEPYHRE REGION LANDFALL
Touchdown in Zepyhre. My heart rate is currently 110 BPM, not from the travel, but from the starter selection. Usually, I have to beg, borrow, or steal to get a pseudo-legendary before the eighth badge. Here? My "Grandparents" handed me a Dratini right out of the gate. Do you realize the efficiency gains? I just saved four hours of Safari Zone misery fishing for a 1% encounter rate. We are off to a flying start.
THE CATCHABILITY INDEX
I immediately checked the local physics engine regarding evolution. The intel was correct: Living Dex is possible without cheats. The local scientists have removed the need for trade evolutions entirely. I watched a Kadabra evolve simply by leveling up. No cables, no social interaction required. This is the isolationist dream. I can fill slots #065 through #150 without relying on a second device.
NOTE: Keep an eye on the "Typing Changes". I threw a standard Electric attack at a local variant and it shrugged it off. My spreadsheet needs updating. Check type matchups before committing to a Nuzlocke.
VISUALS & NAVIGATION
The region looks distinct. We aren't in Kanto anymore. The custom tilesets give Zepyhre a fresh coat of paint, though I detected some jagged edges near the map boundaries—classic Beta 1.3.1 anomalies. However, the movement tech is solid. Running indoors is enabled by default. I don't have to walk at a snail's pace through the Pokemon Center while rushing to heal my paralyzed team. Huge QoL.
THE THREAT: TEAM ROCKET RELAPSE
Team Rocket is back. Again. It's been a year since the FireRed incident, and they haven't learned a thing. Their level curve is standard, but the Gym Leaders here aren't messing around. They seem to have adapted to the Dratini starter meta—expect Ice moves earlier than you'd like.
FINAL TALLY
I've scoured the region. 100% completion took me 38 hours. It's a tight, focused expedition. The "Beta" tag on the dossier made me nervous about hitting a progress-blocking wall, but the main campaign appears fully navigable. However, I did spot a few locations that felt empty, likely placeholders for future updates.
WARNING: Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave to the north of the 4th Gym. There is a static encounter there that does NOT respawn if you faint it. I almost threw my Pokedex into the ocean.
