Some challenge

Pokemon Adventure Green Chapter is based on the manga Pokemon Adventure. Almost all of the events in the game are based on the manga. Some events, however, were changed to make it longer. Because the game closely follows the manga, you do not get to choose your own starter Pokemon. Green’s storyline is followed in the game. The majority of the events in this game are implied rather than shown in the manga. This is a continuation of my Pokemon Adventure Red Chapter hack.

OFFICIAL INTEL

  • Follows the story of Green
  • Jigglypuff is the starter Pokemon
  • Silver debuts in this game
  • New tiles, maps, textures, items, trainer class, and pokemon sprites
  • Has optional events that can change the storyline
  • See the old and new Kanto

MISSION REPORT: POKEMON ADVENTURE GREEN CHAPTER

Explorer: DexHunter Ace (LVL. 100)
Region: Kanto-Johto-Hoenn Tri-Sector (Manga Timeline)
Expedition Duration: 38 hours, 47 minutes
Pokedex Completion: 67.3% (INCOMPLETE - SEE BELOW)

INITIAL ASSESSMENT

Okay. OKAY. Deep breaths. Let me explain why I've been awake for three days straight staring at a Jigglypuff.

This region operates on manga logic. You don't pick your starter. Green's canonical partner is Jigglypuff, and that's what you GET. My completionist brain short-circuited for about twenty minutes before I accepted this regional phenomenon. The upside? Wigglytuff gets a MEGA EVOLUTION here. Parasect gets one too. PARASECT. I didn't know I needed Mega Parasect in my life but here we are.

POKEDEX VIABILITY REPORT

Here's where things get... complicated. And by complicated I mean I filled seventeen pages of notes.

MISSABLE EVENT WARNING! Save before entering the cave. Actually, save before entering ANY story-critical location. This hack follows manga events, which means certain Pokemon encounters are one-time-only based on narrative triggers.

The regional Pokedex includes three experimental typing classifications: Fairy (now standard in modern sectors), Shadow, and something called "Glitch" type. The Glitch-types appear to be intentional anomalies - not bugs, but actual catchable entities. My spreadsheet had a MELTDOWN trying to categorize these.

Living Dex possibility? UNCERTAIN. The Beta 3 designation means this region is still undergoing geological shifts. Some evolutionary lines appear truncated. I encountered Pokemon that should evolve but... don't. Yet. The "Create Evolution Items" local technology is a massive QoL feature - you can CRAFT Link Cable equivalents instead of hunting for them. But the system isn't fully documented.

REGIONAL PHENOMENA

The day and night system functions properly. Wild encounter tables shift accordingly. Good.

What's NOT good: the narrative-locked progression. This isn't a badge-collecting expedition. You're following Green's manga storyline, which means:

  • Certain areas only unlock after specific story beats
  • Some Pokemon are literally handed to you as plot devices
  • Others are permanently missable if you don't explore optional events

The optional events that "change the storyline" - I found three of them. Each one altered which Pokemon became available later. My notes look like a conspiracy board with red string connecting everything.

CROSS-REGIONAL ACCESS

You get partial access to Hoenn and Johto sectors. PARTIAL. This is both exciting and agonizing. Silver appears as a recurring entity - canonically accurate to the manga timeline. The old and new Kanto maps are genuinely impressive; seeing the regional evolution between eras scratched an itch I didn't know I had.

Gen VI attack data has been integrated. Fairy-type moves function correctly against Dragon-types. The Primal Evolution for Cloyster is... honestly terrifying. I watched it one-shot a Dragonite.

QOL ASSESSMENT

The Pokeball Changer system lets you swap ball types on already-caught Pokemon. For aesthetic completionists, this is huge. For catching purposes, it's irrelevant, but I appreciate the attention to detail.

Pokemon Contest functionality exists. I spent four hours on this. FOUR HOURS. It works, but it's clearly secondary to the main narrative expedition.

NOTE: No infinite repel system detected. Manual repel management required. Minor inconvenience but notable for extended grinding sessions.

CRITICAL ANOMALIES

Beta status means instability. I encountered:

  • Two soft-lock scenarios in optional areas (save frequently)
  • Some NPC dialogue referencing events that haven't been implemented yet
  • Sprite inconsistencies between new Pokemon additions and legacy assets

The "unknown" completion status from HQ is accurate. This region is PLAYABLE - I got through the main storyline - but post-game content feels scaffolded rather than finished.

SHINY HUNTING VIABILITY

Standard odds appear intact. No DexNav equivalent detected. No chaining mechanics. If you're here for shinies, you're doing full-odds hunting like it's 2004. My condolences.

FINAL EXPEDITION NOTES

100% completion is currently impossible due to Beta status. My 67.3% represents everything catchable in the current build. The remaining 32.7% haunts me. I can SEE the empty Pokedex slots. They're RIGHT THERE.

For manga enthusiasts and narrative-focused explorers, this region offers something genuinely unique. For pure completionists? Wait. Just... wait. The foundation is solid. The QoL features show promise. But I cannot in good conscience recommend this to anyone who shares my neurological need for 100% until the region stabilizes.

I'm going to go stare at my incomplete Pokedex now. Don't contact me for 48 hours.
