LOG ENTRY: 2050 // REGION: HOENN-VARIANT
Day 1. I’ve breached the perimeter of Pokemon 2050. My Pokedex is currently sitting at 0%, and my skin is already crawling. I need that number to go up. Immediately. The atmosphere here feels familiar—base code Emerald—but the ecological data is wildly divergent.
THE CATCHABILITY INDEX
The local fauna has been scrambled. We aren't just dealing with Zigzagoons anymore. This region features a curated, custom Pokédex extending all the way to Gen 7 species. For a completionist like me, "curated" is a double-edged sword. It usually means no trash filler, which is good, but it also means every encounter is deliberate. I haven't found a complete habitat list yet, but early scans suggest a Living Dex is possible without cheats, assuming the developer didn't lock mythicals behind broken events.
NOTE: Keep your eyes peeled for Alolan forms. The dimensional rift seems to have dragged them into the Hoenn tropical belt.
MECHANICAL UPGRADES (QoL)
Thank Arceus for the technology in this timeline. The locals have implemented a Physical/Special Split, meaning my Sneasel is actually usable and not just a glorified paperweight. But the real dopamine hit? Re-usable TMs and Move Tutors. I nearly wept. Do you know how many hours I've wasted grinding Battle Points for a second Thunderbolt? Here, it's efficient. It’s clean. It allows for rapid team reconfiguration without the resource anxiety.
- Tech Level: High. Gen 7 Movesets are integrated.
- Resource Management: Optimal. Infinite use protocols active.
THREAT LEVEL: "HONOR MODE"
Here is the kicker. The trainers in this region have engaged a protocol I'm calling "Hardcore Light". No items in trainer battles. You can't just spam Full Restores when your Garchomp gets low. You have to actually strategize. It changes the rhythm of the hunt. You can't stall for capture turns against a Gym Leader's ace; you have to drop them or be dropped. 100% completion took me 65 hours of intense focus, largely because I had to actually think during major skirmishes instead of wallet-warrioring my way through.
ANOMALY DETECTED: VERSION v0.0.1
My sensors are picking up conflicting data. The Archives tag this as "Completed," yet the version stamp reads v0.0.1. In my line of work, that usually means "Crash imminent." However, the structural integrity seems stable. I didn't clip through the floor, and the save data hasn't corrupted... yet. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave at the northern sector just in case the scripting is fragile.
FINAL LOG
Is it the definitive Emerald experience? Hard to say with the version number glitching out. But the catch mechanics are solid, the battle engine is modernized, and I don't have to hoard TMs like a dragon hoarding gold. That's a win in my book.
