MISSION LOG: DAY 01 - THE ITCH
I touched down in the Pokemal region at 0400 hours. My Pokedex is sitting at a pathetic 0%. My skin is crawling. I need to catch something immediately. The local Professor offered me a choice of Johto Starters. I grabbed a Totodile. Slot #158 filled. The dopamine hit was instant, but fleeting. I need more.
LOCAL TECHNOLOGY & ANOMALIES
The tech in this region is surprisingly advanced for a Beta sector. I checked my wrist—they've issued me a Poketch 2.0. It's not the cheap plastic knockoffs you find in some regions; this thing actually functions. Better yet, the local scientists have developed an IV/EV Checker. This is critical. I don't waste Pokeballs on trash genetics. If I'm building a Living Dex, I want pristine specimens.
NOTE: The region features a phenomenon where your Pokemon follows you in the overworld. It's charming, sure, but practically speaking, it helps verify that my team hasn't been deleted by a corruption bug. I keep looking back just to make sure my Totodile is still there.
THE CATCHABILITY REPORT
Here is where the sweat starts. The region is flagged as "Beta" in the archives, last updated in 2020. This terrifies me. A Beta region usually means broken link trades or missing encounter tables. I'm hyperventilating because I can't confirm if a Living Dex is possible without cheats. I've scoured the tall grass for hours. The encounter rates seem stable, but if I hit an invisible wall before the Elite Four, I am going to lose my mind.
There is a local custom called "Nuzlocke Mode." Apparently, it challenges you to release Pokemon if they faint. I find this absolutely repulsive. Why would I throw away a registered ID? I avoided this mode entirely. My goal is accumulation, not attrition.
THREAT LEVEL: UNSTABLE
The hostile entities here are standard, but the environment feels... unfinished. I found myself checking corners for glitch tiles. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. I have a gut feeling that some scripted events might be one-way trips in a build this old. I'm keeping backup saves on three different memory cards.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I haven't reached the post-game yet. I can't confirm if the Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W if it is, but right now, I'm operating on hope and adrenaline. If this region turns out to be incomplete, I'll have to quarantine the whole save file. For now, the hunt continues, but I'm watching that completion percentage like a hawk.
