LOG START: DAY 1 - THE ANTHROPOMORPHIC ANOMALY
I’ve touched down in the Sinnoh Sector, but my readings are... wrong. Or maybe they're perfect? I can't decide. I came here expecting the usual Bidoof and Starly, but the local fauna has undergone a massive biological shift. The entities here—locally classified as 'Moemon'—display human-like characteristics while retaining Pokemon DNA. My Pokedex is screaming at me.
I don't know if this is evolution or a genetic experiment gone rogue, but the collection urge is stronger than ever. If it has a Pokedex number, I own it. That's the rule. And these... things... they need to be cataloged immediately.
THE LANDSCAPE: SINNOH REDUX
The architecture is familiar—this is the Platinum timeline, no doubt. We have the Distortion World, the chilly northern routes, and the agonizing slog through the snow. However, HQ provided intel suggesting GBA-level tectonic plates underneath the surface. I've detected strange physics in the movement—specifically, the intel mentioned 'Stairs up / down: Characters will move the x-axis and y-axis.' It feels like a simulation of Sinnoh running on older hardware, yet the visual fidelity of the sprites is high-tier.
FIELD NOTE: The 'Cute' charm is dangerous. Do not hesitate. A Moemon Garchomp is still a Garchomp. It will end your Nuzlocke run with a smile.
CATCHABILITY & COMPLETION
This is where I live. The hunt. The sprite work here is the main draw. Every encounter feels like a new discovery because you're not just looking for a creature; you're looking to see how the artists interpreted it. It revitalizes the grind.
I spent 4 hours in the tall grass on Route 201 just staring at the variations. 100% completion took me 85 hours. Not because the map is larger, but because I refused to leave an area until I had seen every single Moemon design available. The sprite replacements are comprehensive, covering multiple generations.
POST-GAME & QOL
We are looking at the standard Platinum endgame, which is arguably the peak of the franchise. Post-game is massive. Battle Frontier included. You have the Battle Factory, the Battle Castle—it's all here. The Moemon aesthetic makes the crushing difficulty of the Frontier Brains slightly more palatable, but don't be fooled. Palmer's Milotic still walls you.
Regarding the intel on 'Moltres back in Victory Road'—confirmed sighting. The legendary distribution seems to have been tweaked to allow for a fuller Pokedex without needing to hop between dimensions (cartridges). Living Dex is possible without cheats. This is critical. If I can't catch the box legends, why am I even here?
MISSION VERDICT
This expedition is for the aesthetic hunters. If you've played Platinum to death, the Moemon overhaul provides enough of a dopamine hit to justify another 60+ hour run. It's weird, it's obsessive, and it's exactly the kind of anomaly I live for.
