LOG ENTRY: MOEMON SECTOR (KANTO VARIANT)
Explorer: DexHunter Ace (LVL. 100)
Status: HYPER-FOCUSED
Pokedex Count: 386/386 (Finally. My hands are shaking.)
Time Elapsed: 85:12:43
I don't know what kind of mutagen has infected the Kanto waterways, but the local wildlife has evolved into... humanoid variants. They call them "Moemon." At first, I was confused. Then I realized: They still have Pokedex numbers. If it has a number, it goes in the ball. No exceptions. My neurological need for 100% completion overrides all aesthetic confusion.
THE CATCHING ENVIRONMENT
Let's cut to the chase—the "Catchability" rating. This isn't just a fresh coat of paint; there are mechanical anomalies here. The region operates on the Leaf Green engine, but with significant alterations to the local fauna's appearance. The sprites are high-quality, I'll give them that. No mismatched pixels causing eye bleed.
But here is the intel you actually care about: Living Dex is possible without cheats. I repeat: Possible. I encountered wild variants of trade-evolutions roaming specific zones. Seeing a wild Gengar (Moemon form) in the field nearly gave me a heart attack, but it saved me from the agony of setting up a link tunnel.
ANOMALY DETECTED: THEFT PROTOCOLS
Headquarters intel suggested a "Stealing" mechanic. I can confirm this is active but limited. You aren't playing as Team Rocket, but there are specific hostile entities (Trainers) whose assets can be seized. This is critical for the completionist run. Why breed for hours when you can liberate a rare specimen from a Bug Catcher? It speeds up the grind significantly.
QUALITY OF LIFE (OR LACK THEREOF)
I have to dock points for the navigation. The old HM system is still in place. I spent way too much time shuffling party members just to Cut a tree. However, the item availability balances it out. Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. Finding this on the shelves in Celadon City was the dopamine hit I needed to push through the mid-game slump. It patches the holes that usually leave me at 98% completion.
FIELD NOTE: The "Move Edits" mentioned in the briefing are present but inconsistent. Some mons have updated pools, others are stuck in the Stone Age. Check your movesets before committing to the Elite Four grind.
THREAT LEVEL & POST-GAME
The difficulty is standard Kanto baseline, but the psychological warfare of battling cute girls in cosplay costumes adds a layer of confusion. Don't let your guard down. The post-game includes the Sevii Islands, naturally, but the encounter tables have been tweaked. I spent 12 hours hunting down the Johto remnants.
Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave near Cerulean. There is a static encounter there that does not respawn if you faint it. I learned this the hard way and had to reload a save from three hours prior. Do not make my mistake.
FINAL ANALYSIS
100% completion took me 85 hours. A large chunk of that was simply admiring the sprite work and double-checking my spreadsheet to ensure the Moemon variants matched the official National Dex order. It satisfies the itch. The box organization is clean. The world is vibrant. If you can get past the visual oddity, the collection loop is solid.
